Date Night September 2015
If the first thing you noticed is the missing post for Date Night August 2015, you are very observant. You've made no mistake. August is missing because I had an allergy attack! We paid for a sitter, picked a free movie, cleaned up and then my eyes swelled shut and my throat closed on me. Turns out I have 31 known allergies that didn't kick in until after having my two little ones. (Hormone imbalance according to the allergist. Hi, Michelle!)
Anyway, as you could imagine I was already pumped for a date night this month (September) since I missed the last one. However, this month I really needed a date because I am tired. This is a season in my life where things are hitting back to back. Not all of the things are bad, but some of them are certainly not good. Then, there's one in particular that just can't stop being a problem soon enough. (I'll give you the praise report on that when it's all resolved!)
From bills, to parenting, to working I needed a break and I needed my husband to take charge. I needed "I'm not psychic" to become "But that doesn't matter because I know you."
I needed . . . a LAUGH. Have you ever been so stressed out you just laughed at the chaos around you? Have you ever been in such disbelief that this is your life you erupted in spontaneous, uncontrollable laughter?
Well, it took some maneuvering and money we honest to God didn't have, but that is exactly the laughter I got! We watched Karlous Miller, of MTV's Wild n' Out, at a local comedy club and he was hilarious!
What I didn't expect was for Karlous to be inspirational. Karlous actually confirmed a conversation my husband and I had a few nights prior. We discovered that working does not require having a job. Sometimes, all you need to "work" is your gift. Job or not you have a work to do.
Congratulations, Karlous Miller, on 10 years doing your gift and nothing else, "Paying bills and some mo' sh*t!"
Thanks for the laugh . . .
